Spring Training- Day 1

Notes from Day 1
Cardinals- Adam Wainwright, Jason Isringhausen's replacement at closer at the end of last season, started for the Cardinals and pitched three scoreless innings, while striking out one and walking one; Outfielder Rick Ankiel came off the bench to play RF and went 2-for-2 with 2 RBI.
Marlins- Scott Olsen started for Florida and allowed one run on four hits and a walk in 1.2 innings; Potential closer Kevin Gregg allowed one run on one hit and a walk in his inning of pitching.
Tigers- Chad Durbin started the game for the Tigers and pitched two perfect innings and got the win.
Mets- Oliver Perez struggled in his first start of the spring, allowing 4 runs on five hits in two innings and getting the loss; Closer Billy Wagner pitched one inning and allowed one run.
Rockies- Left-Fielder Matt Holliday went 2-for-3 with a home run and 2 RBI; Right-Fielder Brad Hawpe hit 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI; Starting Pitcher Aaron Cook pitched two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and struck out one.
White Sox- Pitchers Mark Buehrle and Jon Garland combined to give up 11 runs (10 earned) on 14 hits in 4 innings; Closer Bobby Jenks left the game before even recording an out because of shoulder tightness.
Twins- Matt Garza pitched two perfect innings in his start for the Twins; Catcher Joe Mauer hit a three-run home run to tie the game at 4-4 in the 5th.
Red Sox- Potential Second Baseman Dustin Pedroia went 1-for-2 with 2 runs and a walk; Outfield prospect Jacoby Ellsbury went 1-for-3 with 2 RBI and a stolen base.
