1951- A thousand fans behind the Browns dugout are given yes and no signs to vote on decisions to be made by the coaches. Owner Bill Veeck's idea appeared to work as his team defeated the Phillies 5-3.
1983- Orioles pitcher Tippy Martinez picks off three Blue Jays runners in the 10th inning, as the Jays took big leads off the bases trying to take advantage of the Orioles new catcher, a converted infielder. Len Sakata, the catcher, ended the game in the bottom half of the 10th with a 3-run homer.
1985- Don Baylor ties a Major League record when hit by a pitch for the 189th time in his career.
2005- Mets rookie Mike Jacobs hits a home run off D-Backs Jose Valverde, becoming the first player to hit four home runs in his first four Major League games.
